It begins with the herders and spinners who prepare natural fibres like cashmere, alpaca, mohair, and New Zealand wool, all of which are sourced ethically and sustainably.

From there, the process unfolds through stages — designing, dyeing, weaving, trimming, binding, and washing — each carried out by skilled specialists, many of whom have been practicing their art for decades.

A single hand-knotted rug, especially a bespoke or custom size, can involve:

• 2–3 dye masters

• 1–2 CAD designers

• 6–10 weavers on the loom

• 2 finishers

• 1 quality control supervisor

• 1 packaging and logistics team
